I was thrilled to be invited to be part of RTE1’s Today Show Breast Cancer Survivor Special on Tuesday 20th October. I never expected that just in my first week back to live in Ireland that I would be on Irish television twice!!
It was a great show dedicated to Breast Cancer Survivors with informative sections on how to check your breasts and what signs to look out for. Viewers texted in for presenter Dáithí Ó Sé to dye his beard pink with donations going to The Marie Keating Foundation. Ronan Keating spoke about his mother Marie’s breast cancer and the great work carried out by the Foundation that they set up in her memory.
As Today Show is filmed in the RTE studio in Cork, the day before the show I popped into Coast on St. Patrick’s Street to be styled for my appearance. I already knew what neck-piece I would be wearing and it blinged up the outfit we chose perfectly. I brought only one pair of boots up to Cork with me to wear so thankfully they rocked up the feminine outfit and gave the pretty skirt an edge. I would never have been able to rock this look if it weren’t for my bald head!

The great thing about having a broken nose is that I have two completely different profiles to play with! The right hand side of my nose appears narrower so I nick-named it my “Paris Hilton” nose, while my left hand side of my nose appears bigger and stronger so I joke that it’s my “High Fashion” nose. I know how to work my angles and play with what I’ve got for photographs. On TV, however, my face looks completely different depending whether I’m sitting on my right or left. Like the Batman character Two Face, my face keeps even me guessing!!

RTE studio gave me pink balloons to take away with me after the show, which meant one thing: Photoshoot!

I then found an even more entertaining use for the balloons…..Helium Time with my nieces!!
