Body & Soul, Here I go!

Given I have a busy week this week, this post will be an update as to what I’m to.

Sicily & my Italian Blog…

I had a beautiful holiday in Sicily with my husband, his family and friends. I used my time there to launch an Italian version of this blog called http://www.avanticonstile.com  as I wanted to share my message with Italian Chemo Queens who may need inspiration to dare to bear and that there are other options other than wearing a wig. I’m fluent in Italian as I have a Degree and Masters in Italian, I have lived in Rome for a total of 4 years, I have worked alongside high profile Italians in the London finance sector for 3 years and my husband is Sicilian. My husband and I speak to each other in Italian as, though he has learned English in the past year, it has always been our language of communication.

I had taken so many beautiful photos of my time in Sicily as I was hoping to do a blog post on his amazing and unique home town, Mazzarino. However, as I ran out of memory on my phone I deleted all my photos as I had mistakenly thought they were all backed up! I’m hoping to retrieve the deleted photos back through a phone technician so fingers crossed.

Chemospiration Talk in Douglas today (3rd September)…

Today I’m giving my “Chemospiration” talk at Sam McCauley’s Chemist in Douglas Court Shopping Centre at 4pm. I will speaking about my positive journey with breast cancer and how, thanks to my faith, cancer has been the making of me. I will also be giving tips on how to be a Totes Amazebald Chemo Queen. If any of my readers are in the Cork area, please drop to be inspired. I will be around after my talk for any questions and to hang out. There will also be a nurse from Marie Keating Foundation in the store for any medical concerns you may have and Theya Lingerie will be showcasing their amazingly comfortable post-operation lingerie.

Chemospiration Talk at Electric Picnic this Saturday (5th September)…

I’m thrilled to announce that I have been invited to give my “Chemospiration” talk at Electric Picnic this Saturday!! For my non Irish readers, Electric Picnic is one of Ireland’s most famous Music and Art 3 day Festivals with up to 50,000 festival goers. I have gone to this festival myself several times and I can not believe that now I will be a “Performer” ! I will have free entrance to the festival for the whole weekend and I’ll be camping in the Performer’s area. If any of my readers are going to Electric Picnic this weekend, make sure to stop by the Peace Pagoda stage in the Body & Soul area on Saturday at 5pm to be inspired during my hour slot. Anyone who knows me knows I looove to talk so I’m sure I’ll be able to fill an hour up no problem!! There will also be a surprise or two up my pink sleeve

Blog Awards Ireland…

Lastly, I was delighted to learn that my blog had been nominated on the Long List as Best Beauty Blog and Best Blog Post for my Mad Max blog post. https://aheadwithstyle.com/2015/05/11/mad-max-i-am-furiosa/

Unfortunately I didn’t make the Short List, which is disappointing. I have come to realise now that my blog doesn’t really fit “Beauty Blog” category as I don’t focus on beauty products, but instead I focus on the importance of your inner strength and being bald as being beautiful. I think for any Awards in the future my blog would be more suited to perhaps “Lifestyle” or “Health” Categories.
